“Birth is a rite of passage of women. Their journey should be honored, their rights should be fiercely protected, and their stories should be shared.”

– Marcie Macari

FAQs

  • This is my favorite question that I get asked! The word “Doula” in ancient Greek means “a woman who serves.” Serving you and your family in any way I can is my #1 goal. A birth doula is a trained professional who provides emotional, physical, and informational support to women and families during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

  • Studies have shown that having a birth doula can lead to shorter labor, decreased need for pain medication, lower rates of interventions such as cesarean section, and higher rates of breastfeeding success. Additionally, having a birth doula can provide emotional support and reassurance during a potentially stressful and overwhelming experience.

    Some benefits include:

-Reduces risk of Cesarean by up to 56%

-Reduced length of labor by up to 25%

-Reduced Pitocin use by up to 31%

-Reduced epidural use by up to 60%

-Reduced risk of birth dissatisfaction by up to 39%

-Reduces babies risk of a low 5 min APGAR score by up to 38%

  • Every individual and family is different, but if you are seeking personalized support during your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, a birth doula may be a good option for you.

Even moms who plan to use an epidural can benefit from hiring a doula!

  • My objective is not to replace your birth partner, but rather to involve them in the birthing experience as much as you both feel comfortable. As your Doula, my aim is to create an atmosphere in which both you AND your partner feel self-assured, at ease, and secure.

  • Doula services aren't just for new mothers! Every pregnancy, delivery, and newborn is distinct, and as your doula, I can assist you in navigating this new experience so that welcoming a new addition to your family is a smooth process.

  • As your Doula, I will be at your service 24/7 starting from the 38th week of your pregnancy until you give birth! The cost of my services reflects my experience, training, and equipment, as well as the value I place on the sacrifices I may have to make with my own family to support yours. This could mean waking up at unusual hours, working for an unpredictable length of time (which may exceed 24 hours), missing important occasions such as holidays and my own child's events, and more. Nevertheless, I am passionate about what I do and I am excited to assist you in achieving a wonderful childbirth experience.

In case you need payment arrangements, I am open to discussing and creating a plan that meets your specific needs. Don't hesitate to send me a message so we can work on this together.

  • You can contact me via text, email or through my website to schedule a consultation. I look forward to connecting with you!
